Sam
Lawrence is a native of Greenville, SC. He earned an Engineering
Technology degree from Greenville Technical
College. In addition,
Sam graduated from North Greenville College with a major In Ministry and
Church Recreation. He earned his bachelor's degree from Furman
University, majoring in Sociology and Religion.
Sam has worked in the design engineering field for over two decades for
Fluor, BASF, Duke Energy
and Framatome ANP. He has also served
several upstate churches in various roles ranging from youth pastor to
associate pastor. He served nearly six years as web minister for
Marathon Community Church in Powdersville. Sam was ordained into the
Gospel Ministry by Eastside Baptist Church in Liberty, SC.
In 1999, while serving as web minister at Marathon Church, Mr. Lawrence
started Aletheia Web Design Company. The mission of Aletheia is to
help other churches develop their web ministry and to get the Gospel
message on the world wide web. The term "aletheia"
(AH-LAY-THE-UH) is a Greek word that means "truth" and was taken
from John 8:32, "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you
free"(NIV). Aletheia has built and maintained a number of
upstate church websites, webs for missionaries and also Christian small
business websites.
Sam is an Eagle Scout and is still active in scouting through Troop 37
and Pack 130, and Troop 133: all sponsored by
Easley First Baptist.
He is married to the former Traci Frost of Greenville, SC. The Lawrence
family now have five children. Sam and Traci have called Easley
"home" since 1989, when Sam was serving as Associate Pastor in
Liberty.
